Deliveroo is partnering with learning provider, Open Classrooms to offer riders the opportunity to develop learning and skills in areas of their choice.

These terms apply to all riders authorised by Deliveroo to carry out delivery services (Riders) and in the case of Short Courses and Scholarships their partner, spouse, parents and children aged 18 and above (Family Members) located in Belgium, France, Italy, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, UAE, Qatar and Kuwait.

Key Terms

During the offer period, Deliveroo is offering eligible Riders and Family Members (“Participants”) the opportunity to participate in free learning courses provided by Open Classrooms Ltd.

There are three types of learning courses available to Participants (Online Courses, a Scholarship Programme and in the French market, Pre-Apprenticeship Courses). Each may have different application and eligibility criteria, described below, and to participate in any of the learning courses you will need to sign up and agree to Open Classrooms’ own terms and conditions, which you can read here: https://openclassrooms.com/en/terms-of-sale and https://openclassrooms.com/fr/terms-of-sale

For Online Courses:

Closing Date: Participants must apply and complete online courses by the earlier of (i) September 2023 or (ii) when the Rider ceases to be a Rider.

Offer Description: After you’ve registered with Open Classroom, eligible Participants shall be entitled to unlimited free access to any of Open Classroom’s 500 SPARK short courses Online Courses (available in English and French language).Participants who complete the courses will get access to corresponding OpenClassrooms certifications that can be used on CV and online professional profiles.

Eligibility Criteria: You must be a Deliveroo Rider or a Family Member

If you cease to be a Rider, or the Rider you’re linked to as a Family Member has ceased to be a Rider, you will no longer be eligible to access the Online Course. If you fail to comply with these Participant Terms or Open Classroom’s terms and conditions, you will no longer be eligible.

How to participate: To access the Online Course, go to https://openclassrooms.com/en/partners/deliveroo/offers or https://openclassrooms.com/fr/partners/deliveroo/offers . Participants must register their name, email address and valid Deliveroo Rider ID. Riders must use their own Rider ID and if you’re a Family Member or substitute, please only use the Rider ID of the Rider you’re linked to and you must ask for the Rider’s permission to use their Rider ID). Open Classroom will share participant details with us to verify the Rider ID. Once verified, Open Classroom will grant verified Participants with access to the Online Courses.

For the Scholarship Programme or the Pre Apprenticeship (France only) Programme:

Closing Date: The final date to submit an application for either the Scholarship Programme or the Boost Programme is 23:59 on 24th March 2023.

Offer Description: Eligible Participants who successfully apply for a Scholarship Programme or Pre Apprenticeship Programme will get free access to a choice of special courses. The Scholarship Programme courses last approximately 6 months, and include mandatory completion of online projects, access to a personal mentor and qualification in a recognised diploma. The Pre Apprenticeship Programme courses last approximately 3 months, including studying for 2 days per week and a paid apprenticeship for 3-4 days, as well as access to a personal mentor and access to career guidance and services.

Course Description: The Scholarship Programmes are for Associate Level Diploma “Scholarship” (EQF level 5) programs. They include options to study any of the following courses:

English language:

IT Support Technician

Web Developer,

Digital Marketer

French language:

IT Technician,

Attache Commercial (Sales Rep),

Developpeur Web

And the Pre Apprenticeship (France only) offers courses focus on:

Préparation aux métiers du web

Préparation aux métiers de l’informatique

Préparation aux métiers de la vente

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible you must be a Deliveroo Rider (or in the case of Family Members, linked to a Deliveroo Rider) who has:

a minimum 6-month tenure at time of application,

20 super peak orders in the last 12 weeks on the Deliveroo platform at the point of application;

completed any Online Course through Openclassrooms.com and provide a copy of your training completion certificate. You can find out more about how to complete an Online Course at Section 3, above. See an example of the training completion certificate you need to provide; and

confirmed you are able to commit to the time required for the course in your application.

If you cease to be a Rider, or the Rider you’re linked to as a Family Member has ceased to be a Rider, you will no longer be eligible to apply or complete the application process for applications that are still in progress. If you fail to comply with these Participant Terms or Open Classroom’s terms and conditions, you will no longer be eligible to apply or complete your course.

How to Participate: Register for Open Classrooms and then submit a completed application form (available from your local Rider Academy site as listed in table below) by the Closing Date. Remember to include a certificate of completion of one of the Online Courses you need to complete, to be eligible.

The application form includes questions on why you want to do this course and what you want as a career outcome from the course and seek confirmation that you are able to commit to the time required for the course you’ve applied for. You may apply for yourself or on behalf of a Family Member. If you are applying on behalf of a Family Member you will need to ensure the Family Member has read and agreed to these Terms and Conditions

After the Closing Date, Deliveroo will assess your application based on the following 4 criteria. The final requirement has been included in order to ensure that applicants have correctly understood and appreciate the purpose of the scholarship.

Confirmation that the Participant can meet the time commitments for these programmes

Confirmation that the Participant has access to relevant equipment as listed in the application form (computer, headphones, webcam, good internet connection- If you are successful, you will have a final assessment which will require the above equipment)

Confirmation that the Participant has a good level of written and verbal English (or if studying in French, French)

Content of the Participant’s answer in their application on ‘Why do you want to study for this course’. This criteria has been added by Deliveroo and will take into account passion, expected course outcomes & consideration in answer.

If your application is shortlisted for a Scholarship Programme, our Deliveroo jury will contact (by email or call) those shortlisted for the course..

Shortlisted applicants must respond to that email or call within 7 days to accept your place on the shortlist. If a shortlisted applicant does not respond within that time, the offer will be withdrawn and the place will be offered to another applicant.

To confirm and accept your place on the programme, you must then book a call with an Open Classrooms advisor within 14 days of accepting your place on the shortlist (we’ll give you information on how to do this when you need it). The Open Classrooms advisor will ensure that you fully understand the programme commitments and details and ask you to confirm that you still wish to proceed with the programme.

If you don’t book in your call with the Open Classroom advisor within 14 days, the offer will be withdrawn and your place will be offered to another applicant.

Additional Terms:

Privacy: All Participants for all courses are required to sign-up directly with Open Classroom, accepting their own terms and conditions and Open Classroom’s privacy policy. Open Classroom will share some of the information you provide during sign-up with Deliveroo, so that we can verify Rider details and monitor uptake of the courses. Deliveroo will look after your information in accordance with the Deliveroo Rider Privacy Policy (in table below)

For Participants who apply for the Scholarship or Boost Programmes Deliveroo will additionally process the personal information you provide in your programme application for the purposes of administering and assessing your eligibility to a Programme offered by the Provider and to contact you in relation to your application. We’ll also share the information in your application with Open Classroom.

Open Classroom will process your personal information so they can run, administer and assess the programmes and your progress. .

If you are a Rider submitting an application on behalf of a Family Member , you represent and warrant that you have obtained all necessary consents from Family Members to disclose their personal data to Deliveroo and for Deliveroo to share their personal information with the Provider for the purposes described in these terms.. You must also make sure they have read and understood these terms.

Application of These Terms: These Terms and Conditions apply to all Applicants. If a Rider or a Family Member does not agree with them, they should not submit their application to a programme or register for an Online Course. A hard copy of these can be printed or a copy requested by post, by sending a stamped self-addressed envelope to Deliveroo.

Provider’s Terms and Conditions: All Participants must sign-up to and adhere to the Provider’s own terms and conditions to access Provider’s Online Course or participate in the Provider’s programmes. Full Provider terms and conditions can be found here: https://openclassrooms.com/en/terms-of-sale.

Publicity: By submitting an application to participate in the Scholarship Programme or the Boost Programme, each Applicant Rider and Family Member agrees (without any fee being payable) to participate in filmed or written publicity connected with the Scholarship Programme or Boost Programme, and agrees to their name, photograph and country of residence being made publicly available in promotional material.

General: Deliveroo accepts no responsibility for incorrectly completed, lost or delayed applications.

Decisions on the award of a Scholarship Programme or Boost Programme shall be made by Deliveroo at its sole discretion and shall be based on applicant’s satisfaction of the eligibility criteria, the quality of any application, and such other criteria as Deliveroo deems appropriate.

Deliveroo’s decisions are final and Deliveroo shall not be obliged to provide reasons for its decisions.

Deliveroo reserves the right at any time, and without notice, to withdraw an award to participate in a programme or access to an Online Course if the Rider or Family Member is found to be ineligible or if they breach these terms and conditions.

Deliveroo reserves the right to amend or withdraw its provision without notice.

If any provision of these terms and conditions is held invalid by any law, rule, order or regulation of any government, or by the final determination of any court of a competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the enforceability of any other provisions not held to be invalid.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law, and any disputes arising in connection with them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Definitions

“Scholarship Programme”: Associate Level Diploma “Scholarship” (EQF level 5) programs of 6 months duration, which includes a weekly online one-on-one mentorship (c. 45mins) to support project-based learning as well as career services to help build ‘your dream job’.

“Family Members”: A Deliveroo rider’s partner, siblings, parents or children who are over 18 years old..

“Applicant” A Rider or a Family Member who applies for a course with Open Classrooms.

“Super Peak Order”: Orders delivered between Fridays and Saturdays from 18:00 - 21:00

“Online course”: Open Classrooms SPARK short course licences of three (3) month duration for Deliveroo Riders or their Family Members. SPARK catalogue is made of more than 500 English and French language online courses accessible from OpenClassrooms platform. Students who complete the courses will get access to corresponding OpenClassrooms certifications that can be used on CV and online professional profiles

“Programme”: Deliveroo's offering of Provider's Scholarships, Pre Apprenticeship Programmes and Online Courses to Riders and Family Members

“Relevant Rider”: A Rider and a relevant Family Member connected to a Rider

“Rider”: a delivery rider authorised by RooFoods Ltd or its affiliates (“Deliveroo”) to carry out delivery services.

“Pre Apprenticeship Programme”: Pre apprenticeship study for 1 to 2 days per week with a paid job at an Employer for 3 or 4 days per week.
